The Sennheiser MKH-416 transformer-less, RF condenser is designed as a combination of pressure gradient and interference tube microphones. Very good feedback rejection, low proximity effect, 130 dB/SPL. Rugged and resistant to changing climate conditions. Ideal for boom, fish-pole, and camera mounting.

This option comes with the Blimp windshield and ‘Dead Cat’ fluffy, and pistol grip which can also be attached to a boom pole. If you are looking for a top mic option of the Sennheiser MKH-416, check out this option which comes with a short XLR cable and foamy.

The Sennheiser MKH-416 is our top end directional microphone. The Sennheiser ME66 is our all round multipurpose rifle mic, but when you are after something with that little extra sensitivity, the the MKH-416 is the mic for you. It has very low inherent self-noise and a transformer-less and fully floating balanced output. The 416 is highly immune to humidity in all conditions.  It’s rugged design makes it suitable for adverse climatic conditions and it is extremely stable.

Its excellent directional ability and compact design, high consonant articulation and feedback rejection make the MKH-416 a superb all-around microphone for film, radio and television, especially for outside broadcast applications. The 416 employs RF-technology to control residual microphone noise.
