The Sony PMW-200 was the first of Sony’s 50 Mb/s hand held cameras to be fitted with a 1/2″ sensor. When it was launched it quickly made its way onto broadcasters’ lists of approved cameras for HD transmission. It looks, feels and operates just like an EX-1 so it has a sense of familiarity for users who have shot on an EX-1 or EX-3.

Sony PMW-200 Camera
Building on the unparalleled success of the Sony PMW-EX1, the Sony PMW-200 was the first handheld camera in its class to be equipped with three large 1/2-inch Exmor CMOS sensors which provide excellent sensitivity and depth of field characteristics. Recording in Full HD 422 at 50 Mbps, the PMW-200 offers exceptional performance, operational versatility and workflow efficiency.
The Sony PMW-200 is supplied with a 14x Fujinon lens for remarkable picture quality and flexible creative control with three independent rings with end stops. The Sony PMW-200 can also record in a range of different formats as well as being compatible with other XDCAM HD 422 and XDCAM EX equipment.
The camera also includes cache recording, a feature that sees the camera capture up to 15 seconds before you press the record button while powered on. It features SDI and HDMI ports as well as a USB interface for connecting to a computer.
The camera kit includes batteries, battery charger, raincover and wide angle lens converter as standard. It is a great camera if you are shooting on the run, or producing a multi cam shoot as the camera also features a time-code port for syncing to other bodies.
